MHPower MS200-12(L) 12V/200Ah, Terminal LC5-M8

The lithium-iron-phosphate battery (LiFePO4) is characterized by exceptional lifetime, capacity stability and charging speed. One of the main advantages is the very low weight, roughly 30% of the weight compared to lead batteries.
LiFePO4 batteries retain more than 80% of their capacity even after 2,000 charge cycles. Thanks to the low self-discharge, the battery will be fully functional even after one year of non-use.
Thanks to their long service life, low weight and charging parameters, batteries are used in recreational vehicles, caravans, boats or when powering homes in combination with photovoltaics.
MHPower LiFePO4 batteries are fitted with an integrated BMS (Battery Management System) that controls the discharge and charge processes. If any problem occurs during charging or discharging, the BMS immediately intervenes and adjusts the charging/discharging parameters or interrupts it completely. No additional BMS is therefore required.

The usable capacity of these batteries is at least 94%. Self-discharge only around 2-3% capacity per year! It is therefore not necessary to charge the battery regularly before and after the season.

Safety: LiFePO4 have an extremely stable chemical composition and are safe. LiFePO4 are NON-FLAMMABLE! Will not explode or catch fire on impact in the event of overcharging or short circuiting.

Product information:
LiFePO4 batteries are a type of lithium-ion battery that have many advantages, such as high capacity, long life, safety and durability. However, like other lithium-ion batteries, they also have some disadvantages, including reduced performance at low temperatures.

At negative temperatures or during frost, several adverse phenomena occur that affect the function of LiFePO4 batteries. Including:
• Slowing down of ion diffusion in the electrolyte and electrodes. This slows down the rate of chemical reactions that generate electricity. This means that the battery has a lower capacity and performance when discharging and a lower efficiency when charging.
• Increasing the internal resistance of the battery. This causes energy to be lost in the form of heat and lowers the battery voltage. This limits the maximum current that can be drawn from or supplied to the battery.
• Risk of battery damage. If the battery is charged at temperatures below 0 °C, lithium dendrites may form on the anode. These are sharp lithium crystals that can pierce the separator between the electrodes and cause a short circuit or fire. Therefore, it is recommended to charge LiFePO4 batteries only at temperatures above 0 °C.

For these reasons, it is advisable to operate LiFePO4 batteries in the temperature range from 0 °C to 60 °C to ensure optimal performance and lifetime. At lower temperatures, it is necessary to protect the battery from freezing and charge it carefully.
